High Holy Days 5785!

This year BKY is delighted to welcome Rabbi Dr Sue Levi-Elwell, who has had an incredible career leading communities and publishing on women’s and LGBT+ issues in the US, to their community for the High Holy Days.

Rabbi Sue says:

“I am honored to have the opportunity to join the BKY community to welcome 5785, partnering with Shamaya Mirviss-Carvajal. 5784 was a particularly challenging year for all who care for and support Jews and the international Jewish community. Our hearts have been broken by the hate, violence and destruction in Israel and Palestine. And we have been lifted up by the continuing efforts for a cease-fire and bringing the hostages home. We will come together with songs and prayers and hopes for healing, justice, and peace. Please join us!”

Shamaya will join Dr Rabbi Levi-Elwell and offer musical direction for the services. They say:
